Interface Scaling

Expected Behaviour:

When changing the Interface Scale, it should affect the size of the Figma User Interface while leaving the Design Canvas unaffected.

Actual Behaviour:

Changing the Interface Scale changes the scale of elements on the Design Canvas as well as the Figma User Interface.

To Reproduce:

  1. 1. Set your interface scale to 130%.
  2. Create a frame that is 1512px wide.
  3. This frame will appears to me as 1965.6px wide. (Use a measuring tool; on a Mac you can use Cmd + Shift + 4 for a quick measurement.

Why It Matters:

  • Accessibility
    • This can affect some users vision
    • It can affect some users ability to click elements
  • Usability
    • Some users might just prefer larger text
    • Some users prefer to change the size of elements because of Fitts law.

How in the world they decided to do this in the first place?  I mean it makes absolutely no sense. I need to see how thing will look like in 100% scale, at the same time I don’t want to break my eyes with tiny interface. And in any retina screen you’d want to make it larger
