Instance previews not changing in "Review updates" window

When comparing current and updated component instances in “Review updates” window and cycling through the instances with arrows, the previews don’t change at all. When using “Go to instance” button I can clearly see that the instance has overwritten properties which do not show up inside the review window.

Issue is present in both native app and web version. Colleague could also reproduce the same issue in another project.

I’ve also been having this bug. Restarting Figma, the computer, nothing seems to fix it :(

Hi team, I’m experiencing the same issue. In Review updates, when I navigate through instance changes using the arrow controls, the preview stays identical and doesn’t reflect the currently selected instance.
However, if I click Go to instance, I can clearly see that the instance has overridden properties (e.g., component properties/variants/text) that do not appear in the Review updates preview panel.

Environment:

  • Reproducible on Desktop app and Web

  • Also reproducible in multiple files/projects (not isolated to one file)

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a file with component instances that have overrides

  2. Trigger updates so they appear in Review updates

  3. In Review updates, cycle through instances using the arrows

  4. Observe preview does not change, despite different instance overrides

Expected: Preview updates to match the selected instance and show its overrides.
Actual: Preview remains static; only “Go to instance” shows the true state.

Impact: Hard to review/approve updates safely; increases risk of missing unintended changes.
Tried: Restarting Figma / restarting computer / switching to web & desktop — no change.

Happy to provide a sample file or screen recording if needed.
