Insert Instance from Library

Hello, 

We tried with my team to insert instance from the company library, but the insert instance button and the modal itself are not working anymore (once you click on the btn insert or on any variables btn, the modal closed itself). The only way to insert it, is by drag & drop the instance in the files.

When looking at the console, it says the following : 

Is there a way to fix this ? or is it a figma bug ? 

 

We tried on several account, several libraries and from desktop app to web app, the result is always negatif.

I have the same issue, just today. Component sets in this file are broken — insert instance does nothing. Issue persists in new files and other accounts. Tried copying and clearing cache. This may be metadata corruption.

Sorry you're running into this, and thanks for your troubleshooting! I just gave it a try, and the "Insert Instance" button is working as expected on my end.

Could you try these quick fixes to see if you're still seeing the problem in both the desktop app and a supported browser for all your files? Once you confirm, we'll get this over to our team for further help.

  • Close any Figma tabs you're not using.
    • Browser: Close your browser entirely and reopen Figma.
    • Desktop App: Close and restart the Figma Desktop app.
