Question

Imported library does not connect

I exported two libraries to use them in Figma Make, but neither of them is being accepted. However, in regular Figma files, both libraries are detected and work correctly.

What’s strange is that I use this same library in another account without any issues. The problem only happens in my current account, where Figma Make doesn’t recognize the imported libraries at all.

Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what could be causing this?

Hi @Nishel Davila

I understand you’re having trouble selecting a library in Figma Make after exporting two Figma Design libraries.

To clarify, exporting a Figma Design library for use in Figma Make is available on all paid plans and requires a Full seat with edit access to the library’s source file.

Once a library is exported, anyone in the same team who has view access to that library can also use it in their Figma Make files.

You can find more details here: Bring style context from a Figma Design library into Figma Make

I noticed that the account you’re posting from has access to a Professional team with a Full seat. To help narrow this down, could you please confirm the following?

  • Were the libraries exported to Figma Make from the same Professional team where you’re creating the Figma Make file?
  • After exporting the libraries, when you create a new Figma Make file within that same Professional team, do the libraries appear in the “Select a library” modal?

If you’re creating the Figma Make file in the correct team, please also double-check that you currently have view access to the library’s source file.

If you previously had view access to a library source file but that access was later removed, you won’t be able to use the library in Figma Make anymore.

You can review this scenario in the “What if someone’s view access to a library is removed?” section of the guide above.

If the libraries have already been exported to Figma Make, you currently have view access to the library files, and you’re still unable to select them in a new Figma Make file within the same paid-plan team, the feature may not be working as expected.

In that case, please share the following so we can investigate further:

  • The URL of the library file
  • The URL of the Figma Make file

With that information, I can connect you with the appropriate team for further investigation.

Alternatively, you can submit a bug report directly by selecting “Contact support” via the (?) icon in your Figma Make file. The chatbot will guide you through opening a report so our team can take a closer look.

Here’s a guide you can refer to: What to share in a bug report to Figma Support

Thanks!
