The base background layer that I have in all of my artboards is a satellite map image that’s part of a library component. It has multiple backgrounds in the component that I can switch between (via visibility toggling).

I opened Figma this morning and all of the images within that component have been cut down to a thin horizontal slice of their proper height. I can paste a new image into the component and it’ll properly display that, but the images already in the component have been corrupted. If I copy the component and try to paste it into another file the corruption comes with it.

This is occurring only on Desktop, though. If I go to the web the images still appear properly. 🤔

I’m running 125.2.3 on a Mac running 15.4.1.

Hey @Jeff Gray — good catch, and sorry to hear about the trouble this issue caused.

Checking in: Are you still seeing this behavior? This kind of image fill distortion definitely shouldn’t be happening. Since your original post, the Figma Desktop app has been updated — the latest version is 125.4.9. If the issue persists, updating the app should resolve the distortion or height rendering problem you described.

Appreciate you bringing this to our attention — keep us posted on how it goes!

Hey @Tom Reem , the problem seems to have been resolved, although I’m still running 125.2.3 (my org controls updates, so… 🫠 ). I’m now running Mac OS 15.5, though, so maybe the problem was with an OS version…?

Copy that on the org-controlled updates, @Jeff Gray — totally get it. 😅

I checked around for other reports related to the image fill behavior you mentioned, and so far everything continues to be working as expected. Since OS version can sometimes impact performance, it’s possible the update resolved things on your end.

Either way, glad to hear it’s working now! I’ll keep an eye out for any similar reports just in case, and don’t hesitate to reach back out here if anything else comes up. 💯
