Image Editing Tool Not Working

I am experiencing an issue with Figma's AI image editing tools. Specifically, the image selection/removal feature is not working properly on my account.

The problem occurs when I try to select and remove parts of an image using the built-in image editing tools. The action either fails to process or does not produce any result. However, third-party plugins are working normally, which suggests the issue may be related to the built-in feature itself.

I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Refreshed Figma and restarted the browser
  • Tested with different images
  • Tried using a VPN
  • Verified that plugins continue to work correctly

Could you please investigate this issue and let me know if there are any known service disruptions, account limitations, or additional troubleshooting steps I should follow?

Hey @Samir Mahmud Talukder, thanks for reaching out and for such a detailed description of what you're seeing.

A couple of things worth checking before we dig further:

  1. AI credit balance, the AI image editing tools (Erase object, Isolate object, Expand image) do use AI credits, and if you've hit your monthly limit they'll stop processing silently. You can check your balance by opening the main menu inside any Figma file and selecting AI balance.
  2. Any error messaging? When the action fails, are you seeing an error message, a loading state that just hangs, or does it silently do nothing?

It'd also help to know whether you're on the browser or desktop app, and roughly when this started happening.

Once I have a bit more context, I'll look into this further and if needed, I'll get a support ticket raised so we can dig into the account-level detail.
