Several projects in my account have disappeared. I've checked the Trash but can't find them. I'm sure I'm the owner and they weren't in any previous Drafts. Now that they're gone, is there any way the system can recover them for me?

Hey @GO Designer, thanks for reaching out!

To cover some grounds, please check if:
-The file is in your deleted folder (Open your drafts > click the deleted page). If so, right-click the file to restore it
-The file may have been moved by a teammate who was also on that file
-You’re logged into a Figma account that should have access to this file. You can switch accounts via the top-right and top-left corners of the file browser.

If the file is deleted a few scenarios that could explain why the files not showing in Trash:

  • The files were in another team: Each team/org has its own Trash. If the files were deleted from a different team, they’ll only appear in that team’s Trash.

  • The entire team was deleted: If a team was deleted within the last 28 days, it may still be possible to restore the team and regain access to the files.

  • A project was deleted: Deleting a project moves its files to Trash individually. While projects themselves can’t be restored as a unit, you can duplicate individual files back to Drafts and move them into a new project.

  • The files were permanently deleted: If someone with access permanently deleted them from Trash, they would no longer appear there.

Do you happen to have any file links of those missing drafts? You may be able to find the URL from:
-Your web browser’s history.
-Any past conversations where you might have shared the file with colleagues.
-The ‘File > Recently Closed’ menu if you are using the desktop app.

If you still can’t find the files in the trash please share any file links and I can investigate this!
