Hello, everybody!

 

When I open any project I get a black screen on canvas. The UI are normal, but the project doesn't appear on the screen. I'm having this issue only in the Figma app for mac. Anyone experiencing the same issue?

To ensure I understand correctly, this problem only happens in the Figma desktop app, and it's fine in the browser version, right? Also, does this issue occur with a single file, or across all files?

 

To cover the basics, could you please check if you're using the desktop app with a firewall, proxy, or VPN? Maybe try connecting to a mobile hotspot or ask your IT team. Here's a guide that might help: Guide to the Figma desktop app

If that doesn't fix it, try closing any tabs you don't need in the Figma desktop app, then Force-quit the app and reopen it. You can find more information here: Troubleshooting checklist

Make sure to include:

  • Your Figma account email
  • A video or screenshots showing the problem showing the full Figma screen
  • The desktop app debug logs from those videos/screenshots

The issue occours across all files, even in a mobile hotspot.
I tried to reload, force quit and reinstall figma app and nothing changes.
