I work for a company that has a Pro account on Figma, unfortunately some members have left and I do not know who was the admin and I cannot get the admin rights to manage the team.

I am connected to the workspace and I have access to it but how could I retrieve the data about who is in the team and how can I get admin rights to the team to manage the users?

Many thanks,

Remus Davidescu

Hey @Remus Davidescu, thanks for reaching out!

There are a few paths forward depending on what access you still have.

First, see who's currently on the team. Since you have access to the team, you can pull up the full member list:

  1. Go to your file browser at figma.com
  2. Select All projects from the left sidebar and open your team
  3. Click the down arrow next to the team name and select View members

This will show you everyone on the team and their current role.

Then, getting admin rights. What's possible depends on what you find there:

  • If there's an existing Admin or Owner still reachable: Ask them to go to View members, open the dropdown next to your name, and update your role to Admin.
  • If the owner has left but your IT team can recover their account: If IT can forward emails from the original owner's address, you may be able to reset their password, sign in, and transfer ownership to your account.
  • If there are no admins left: An existing admin can cancel the subscription and let it expire. If there are truly no admins remaining, contact Figma support. The support team can remove the card to stop renewals. After the subscription expires, you can create a new team, upgrade it to a paid plan, and move your projects across.

Full details are in our Transfer ownership of a team article. You can open a support ticket trough our Support hub if you need to go that route.

Hope this helps!
