I signed up for a PAID account and when I did so it forced me into a new account. Now I can only view my design from my free account. There is not way to add myself or share it to myself to continue working on my designs or start mcp server.

Hey @Justin Miller — welcome to Figma Forum, and sorry to hear about the trouble accessing your designs.

From what you've described, it sounds like the paid upgrade created a separate account rather than upgrading your existing one. Merging two Figma accounts isn't possible right now, but the good news is there are a few ways to get your files where they need to be.

Here's what I'd suggest checking:

  1. Confirm which account your files live on. If you set up the paid plan using a different email or SSO, you may be signed into the wrong account. You can check and switch here: Switch between accounts.
  2. Move your files to the paid account. Once you've confirmed where the files are, you can transfer them between accounts: Move a file → Move a file between Figma accounts or organizations.
  3. Move entire projects if needed. Depending on your access level, you may also be able to move full projects at once: Move a project.
  4. Use your free account to share files with your paid account. Some designers in similar situations have found success by signing into the free account, sharing the files with the email on the paid account (even as view-only), and then duplicating them from there into the paid account's drafts. It's a manual step, but it can unblock you while Product Support reviews the bigger picture.

That said, since this involves account-specific details I'm not able to access in this public space, I've also opened a ticket with our Product Support team so they can take a closer look. Your case number is: 1831368. Please check your inbox for an email from me with next steps.
