Hover tooltip for bound variables is not showing value/description anymore

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We want to make sure we understand the situation correctly.

On my end, I can confirm that clicking a bound variable in the Inspect panel opens its details, which aligns with our Help Center documentation: Variables in Dev Mode. However, I do not see a tooltip on hover.

Could you confirm if you were seeing a hover tooltip on the variable name in the Inspect panel before?
Once that's confirmed, I’ll pass this along to our team to review.

I’m not sure if this is the right thread but tooltip for variables does not work on my end anymore as well. Before when you hover on a semantic value, a primitive value shows up, can be a HEX colour, or number, depending on the type (boolean, etc.)

But now, as you can see it’s highlighted but the tooltip is not showing up.

The tooltip was helpful for me since I am manually migrating our design tokens.

Looking forward to your assistance on this.

To make sure we can pass this on to the team accurately, could you walk us through how you get to the screen in your screenshot? Just want to confirm if it's "Open Variables > Variable modal" or a different path.

Hi ​@Junko3, correct! That’s how I opened the variables modal, and that’s where the tooltip used to show up. Thanks in advance.
