Hitting tab while renaming is inconsistent

Up until recently, you were able to rename a layer then hit tab to rename the layer below it. This still works some times, but when you have a group of collapsed frames with child layers, hitting tab starts navigating around the window like keyboard-navigating around a website.

Feels like a bug or some weird condition is making tab some times work and some times not…

Edit: oh my god it depends on where your cursor is… please change this. Tab should move around the layers list while renaming until someone hits escape or enter to cancel or commit the current renaming. While the field is visible and active, tab should be reliable regardless of the cursor’s position.

After more messing around, it still breaks out into navigation some times even with the cursor over the layers list. Sad.

Hey @mmmm - sorry for the delayed reply. I’m checking internally about this. I’m not sure if there was something intentionally changed that may have accidentally introduced bug, or if it is a bug in general.

I’ll update here when I hear more. Thanks for your patience!

OMG this has been driving me crazy for a while… sometimes i can tab through a few items in the layer list, then it stops… I have not been able to discern a pattern as to what / when it will and won’t work… 🤦🏼

Any insight would be appreciated

Hi both -- wanted to let you know I did some comments from an engineer on a bug ticket I filed for this. It looks like the introduction of this was not intentional, but the time/push that would have triggered it is still unknown.

At the moment, I don’t have a timeline on when this will be addressed, but it has been acknowledged for later review.
