Question

Forms are not selectable when they don't have a fill or a stroke

To repeat the issue, create a form and remove fill and any other style it has, then click elsewhere, now try to select it by clicking and draging, and it won’t be selected like the software doesn’t see it, while it style exist and you can see on the layer panel,

And that is an issue that should be fixed.

    I understand the frustration this must be causing. I can see how confusing it would be for an object to remain in the Layers panel but not be included when you drag to select it.

     

    To ensure I’m fully understanding the issue, could you please confirm what you mean by form? Is this object a shape, component, frame, etc.? A screenshot of your layers panel and canvas or screen recording showing the behavior may be be helpful. 

    In the meantime, you should still be able to select the object directly in the Layers panel. Let us know, and we can continue to troubleshoot together.

    Steps to reproduce

    1. Create a rectangle and remove its fill and stroke so that it becomes invisible.
    2. Click and drag to select the object.
    3. Edit the object and delete one point.
    4. Deselect the object.
    5. Click and drag to select the object again.

    Actual result

    The transparent object is no longer selectable.

    This behavior can make transparent objects and paths difficult to find and delete, especially when they are unused.

    Expected result

    Transparent paths and objects present on the canvas should remain selectable, even when they have no fill or stroke, as in Adobe Illustrator.

    Thanks for the additional context, ​@Anass.G!

    That helps clarify how selection stops working, which makes unused paths harder to find and remove. In the meantime, in my own test file, I can confirm that selecting the object through the Layers panel on the left does let you continue to select, edit, or delete it. Is that not the same experience for you? 

    Let me know, so I​’ll have the full scope of the issue. ​​​​​​I’ll then pass this onto our team to try and reproduce and investigate why this is occurring.
