Fonts changing after publishing a site in Figma Sites

Hi @Figmates, my issue is very urgent but I haven't received a human reply for 24 hours. Could you please help escalate my Ticket #2124794 ? Thank you!

 

About my issue:

  1. Context: I reported an issue with font weights not rendering correctly on my Figma Sites website after publishing it on September 11. Although I have been using Helvetica Neue throughout the project for over a month without any font-related issues, all font weights, including Medium, Bold, and Condensed Black, are now being rendered as Regular Helvetica Neue on the published site.
  2. Solutions: I have already uploaded the required WOFF font files since the beginning of the project and have tried various troubleshooting methods including:
  • Re-uploading the font and republishing the site. I changed the current font files from. WOFF to .WOFF2, yet it did not work.
  • Checking the Figma Agents. Mine works totally normal after being forced quitted and reinstalled two times
  • Checking the Figma version. Mine is 126.8.18
  • Downloading Figma Beta. Mine is 126.9.7
  • Checking the font book on Mac. I did not see any errors or warnings.
  • Troubleshooting - resetting and restarting Figma does not work for my case.

    @Jayden Le Just closing the loop here since you would have also been notified by email - this is now resolved, and your font weights should display correctly on the published site.     Hi, ​@Jayden Le. Thanks for posting and for including your ticket number - I flagged that to the team for you and you should hear back soon. 

     

    Regarding the font issue itself, was Helvetica Neue not a font option for you when you started the project? I ask because Helvetica Neue is available for me on my personal laptop and work computer, in the browser as well as the desktop app. It should still be working correctly even with a custom font, but I’m wondering if removing that and using the version provided by default with work correctly. 

     

    Also, are you using any other fonts on the site, and do those respect font weight correctly?

      I use Mac so I believe Helvetica Neue is available on my device. However, this font was not available on my Figma browser until I downloaded the desktop app. After that, I worked entirely on the desktop version and everything worked totally perfect until that day.

      No, I did not use any other fonts; though after this issue, I tried swapping this font with Helvetica and Montserrat. The former had the same problem while the latter one rendered the correct font weights. I thought something might be wrong with this project file so I created a new one using Helvetica Neue and Montserrat (I uploaded 4 files in .woff), but the same problem happened.

      Thanks for clarifying and for the screenshots! I’ve flagged your ticket and a few other reports to our Technical Quality team to look at, since it’s not just you reporting this. 

       

      After re-uploading the fonts, have you tried changing the affected text to a different font, then changing back to Helvetica Neue? I’m wondering if it could be the font metadata not being in sync, and if reselecting it will resolve that.
