Font weight is changing when editing text

Hi there. Since this morning I've had a problem with font weights in Figma. When I edit the text in a layer, the weight changes on its own, but the weight shown in the right-hand panel (the specs) doesn't update to match. So the displayed weight and the actual rendered weight are out of sync.

  • It started this morning with no changes on my end (no plugin updates, no font reinstalls that I'm aware of).
  • Font: Red Hat Display
  • It happens on one specific file of this project
  • I'm on: Desktop app on Windows

Has anyone else run into this? Is it a known issue right now?

Solved be restarting Figma, closing the file and reopening the file.

    Thanks for coming back to let us know! I'm glad to hear that restarting Figma and reopening the file resolved the issue.

    It's possible this was a temporary sync issue, but if you notice the font weight mismatch happening again, please let us know. If it does reoccur, it would also be helpful if you could share a screen recording so we can take a closer look.
