Hey, I got this Issue with a font. I got it installed on my system (Mac). When my coworker made changes the font looks completely different. When I click on it, it changes back. It’s super odd. Unfortunately my client is insisting on having the font my coworker is using, which makes it impossible to make any quick changes for me.

did anyone run in to a similar problem?

on the left is my coworkers font, on the right it’s when I tried editing it.

The font is Copperplate. For some reason it’s preinstalled on Mac and I can’t deinstall it and install a different font file

Hi, @LuiseEcom! Thanks for your post! This is definitely a weird experience for you and your coworker.

Do you have the exact same file version of the font as your coworker, or are they different versions? What it sounds like is happening is your coworker created the file with their version, which is what is used on the initial render of the layer. When you click on the layer, it’s re-rendered but using the version local to your computer. To find out what version you have:

  1. Open up the Font Book app in mac OS.
  2. In the Search field on the top right, search for Copperplate, then double-click on it.
  3. Click on the info button (a letter “i” in a circle) directly next to the search field.
  4. Expand the Details section to the right and the version is at the bottom.

My version is 13.0d1e2, for example.  In Mac OS, you shouldn’t need to actually uninstall the font - if you can download a different version, you should be able to just install it and replace the current one. Ideally, you, your coworker, and your client will have the same version.
