Yesterday while creating my portfolio as a ux designer on figma sites, It suddenly started to show that it cant open my file as WebGL is not enabled, through reading a help article via figma i enabled the override software rendering list as guided by the article and alternatively enabled other WebGL options but still figma is showing the same thing.

To avoid Google chrome, i downloaded figma aap but the app is crashing and not working as well, i don't understand what to do and am i pretty stressed as figma has lot of my work designs and projects, i am on my education plan as i am a student and a ui/ux designer.

I was also working on my portfolio for a long period of time, it was getting almost ready when this happened suddenly. I have been using figma for the past 1.2 years on the same laptop.

I am very stressed and confused not knowing what to do, i hope to see your reply soon.

Hi @Anant paliwal ,

I understand that you’re having trouble opening your Figma Sites file on both the Chrome browser and the Figma Desktop app, even though you’ve been using Figma on the same laptop for over a year.

To start troubleshooting, could you please check the following in both environments?

Figma on Chrome browser:

It sounds like you’re still seeing a WebGL error message, even after following the steps in our guide.
Since you mentioned enabling “Override software rendering list”, I assume you’ve already reviewed this article: How do I configure my browser for Figma?

As mentioned at the top of that article, you need WebGL installed and enabled to use Figma. Please visit http://webglreport.com/ to double-check whether WebGL is enabled on your system.

Additionally, please ensure that you’re using the latest version of Chrome browser.

For more details, see: What are the system requirements for Figma?

Figma Desktop app:

If you haven’t already, please check that your device meets the requirements listed here: Guide to the Figma desktop app

Once confirmed, please try these steps:

  1. Completely uninstall the Figma Desktop app from your computer.
  2. Reinstall it using one of the download links under “Desktop app” on this page: Figma Downloads

If the issue persists after completing the steps above, I recommend submitting a support request using this secure form: Submit a request

When submitting, please include:

  • A video recording or screenshots of the issue (showing the full Figma screen) along with clear steps to reproduce it.
  • The URL of this forum post so our team has full context.

Thanks,
