Figma Slides – Elements Missing in Exported PDF Despite Appearing in Export Preview

When I open the PDF export preview, all the characters and elements on the slides appear correctly. However, after exporting and downloading the PDF, several elements are missing from the final document.

This creates a discrepancy between the export preview and the actual exported PDF. The content is visible in the preview but does not appear in the downloaded file as expected.

Expected behavior:
The exported PDF should accurately preserve all the content and visual elements displayed in the export preview.

Actual behavior:
Several elements that are visible in the export preview are missing from the exported PDF.

I will attach the following files for reference:

  • The original slide in Figma Slides.

  • A screenshot of the PDF export preview showing the complete content.

  • A screenshot of the exported PDF showing the missing elements.

Please investigate this issue and help identify the cause of the discrepancy between the export preview and the exported PDF.

Thank you.

This happens in several slides.

Hi @Vivek A, thanks for posting!

There are some known limitations for exporting Figma Slides to PDF, so first check to see if these are causing your problems.

Next, could you try the following for me?

  • Are the missing elements are nested inside the exported frame, or floating on top of it?
  • Are there perfectly overlapping duplicate elements? If so, flatten or remove them.
  • Disable “Clip content” on the frame, try the export again and see if that makes a difference.
  • Replace a problem vector with a lookalike and re-export.
  • Restart Figma and re-export.
  • Copy the slides into a Figma Design file and export from there.

If none of this works:

  • Submit a support request here by typing in the search bar, scrolling down and clicking Start a chat.
  • Include the file URL and grant edit access to support-share@figma.com (this will not impact your billing).
  • Include the information you’ve shared here, the troubleshooting steps you’ve taken, and the results.
  • The OS you’re using and the version(s) you’ve been working in.
