(Figma Sites) infinite loading on page preview, loads of free memory space

I’m working on a page on Figma Sites, and one of the pages does not want to load into preview mode. The loading screen stops at +/- 99% and doesn’t budge.

My memory usage shows 7%, all the other pages load without issue. It seemed to me it might be a problem with a number of components used on the page, since it is quite heavy, especially that it contains variable use, but the memory is close to empty.

The page preview loaded before when I had about 1/3 elements applied on it, although it failed to correctly show all of the formatting (like the correct gradual blur on an image, some outlines, correct fonts etc.).

I tried:

  • restarting the web page
  • restarting the browser
  • restarting the pc
  • using the app instead of a browser
  • using different browsers
  • duplicating the file
  • copying only the page into a new file
  • changing devices

EDIT: I am willing to share a link to the file, although obviously not on the forum

Hey, @Vesper 👋 Sorry to hear about this. Is the issue persisting today?

If so, here is a quick test to help us narrow things down:

  • Duplicate the page that's failing to load.
  • On the duplicate, delete the bottom half of the elements, then try loading the preview again

If it loads:

  • Delete elements from the top down in smaller chunks
  • Re-test preview after each round
  • Until it stops loading again
  • Whatever you removed right before it started working again is likely the culprit

One clarifying question: does the page use layer/background blur, gradient fills, image filters (brightness/contrast/opacity), or masks?
