Figma Prototype Issue: Hand Cursor Not Showing in Preview

Dear Figma Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue with the cursor/hand icon in Figma Prototype Preview.

When I preview my design in Figma while logged into my account, the hand cursor does not appear on clickable elements, even though the interactions are working correctly.

However, when I open the same prototype in Incognito mode or in Chrome without logging into my Figma account, the hand cursor appears as expected.

I have already tried troubleshooting the issue by checking and updating the relevant settings, but unfortunately, the problem still persists.

Issue Summary:

  • Problem: Hand/cursor icon is not showing on clickable elements in Prototype Preview.

  • Expected Behavior: The hand cursor should appear when hovering over interactive elements.

  • Actual Behavior: The cursor does not change to a hand icon when logged into my Figma account.

  • Additional Observation: The hand cursor works correctly in Incognito mode and in Chrome without logging in.

  • Troubleshooting: I have already checked the relevant settings and tried the available troubleshooting steps, but the issue remains unresolved.

Could you please investigate whether this issue is related to my Figma account, browser session, or any other configuration? I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue.

Please let me know if you need any additional information, screenshots, or a prototype link to investigate further.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Hey @Ram Dayal - sorry for the trouble with this. Can I ask a couple of things to cover all bases?

Is this happening in both the Figma app directly, and also when you use Figma while signed in on a browser (not just Chrome, but any others you have installed).

You mentioned that you’ve tried some troubleshooting by checking/updating relevant settings. This includes the clear desktop app cache in addition to browser cache/cookies, correct? If it works in incognito mode, I suspect the browser being the culprit.

Can you try:

  • Duplicating the file, and previewing that one to see if the hand appears? I want to see if this is isolated to the file itself -- I’m thinking this is less likely, but doesn’t hurt to try.

Let me know how it goes.
