Problem:

  • Figma does not appear in the Plugin directory in ChatGPT web or the desktop app.
    The search returns no results.

  • The official Figma plugin page shows “Add plugin.” When I select it, I get this error: “We couldn't load this plugin right now. Please try again in a bit.”

  • The problem occurred on August 31 and September 1, 2026.

Hi @Vladimir Bulavko, thanks for flagging this!

I understand how this must be slowing down your work. This seems specific to your ChatGPT/Codex setup rather than something broken on our side. The most common cause for Figma not appearing in the directory is plugin permissions at the ChatGPT workspace level. Third-party plugins are disabled by default in many Business and Enterprise workspaces, which both hides Figma from search and can make "Add plugin" fail with the exact error you're seeing. Two things to try:

  1. If you're on a Business or Enterprise ChatGPT workspace, ask your ChatGPT admin to confirm third-party plugins are allowed and that new tool additions are approved.
  2. In the meantime, you can skip the plugin and point Codex at the Figma MCP server directly.  The Codex and Figma setup guide covers this, along with a troubleshooting note on the admin settings above.

Let us know how that goes, and we’ll continue to investigate this together.
