Figma make wants me to hit a retry button

I get this message a lot when working with repo clones in Figma Make. I keep wondering where is this retry button? When I ask Make, it just says it should be on the error card, but most of the time there is no error card visible anywhere. I usually just reload the tab, but it would be nice if you include a retry button, especially since Make seems to think there is one. Or have Make say “reload the tab” instead.

Hey @Esben Berg Aasgaard, thanks for reaching out! This is actually documented in our Help Center as a known error in Figma Make, the "Something went wrong" message where the "Try again" button doesn't do anything.

A few things that'll help narrow this down:

  1. Try opening a different repository to see if the issue follows the repo or shows up everywhere. That'll help clarify what's going on.
  2. In the meantime, reloading the tab (which you're already doing) is the quickest fix when this comes up.
  3. The most useful next step is submitting a bug report directly from Figma Make: click Feedback at the top of the Figma Beta desktop app, then select Bug report. This automatically creates a support ticket with your session logs, git state, and system info attached, which gives the team what they need to dig into why "Try again" isn't working for you.

You can find more on this and other local codebase quirks in Make in your local codebase: Setup, gotchas, and troubleshooting.

I've also noted your feedback about the messaging, having Figma Make say "reload the tab" when there's no working "Try again" button is a fair callout, and it's good for the team to hear.
