Figma make Show Version History is greyed out

I am in a subscription on Figma make. I notice I can no longer see the save button on the left side  by the AI chat window which also showed the files you amended. It usually list the amended files and an undo button to cancel all the changes in that file. Also in the top menu its greyed out. What’s going on? Screenshot attached

I understand the confusion here. Figma Make’s version history is different from where the typical “Show version history” options appear in the Main Menu, as shown in your screenshot. You can access your versions by clicking the down caret at the top of the Make file. A tooltip for “Version history” will appear when you hover over it. 

Here’s an example using my own Make file:

 

Since you also mentioned that controls beside your AI chat have also disappeared, could you confirm if you’re using the latest version of Figma Make? Is this happening in just this file or across all your Make files?

This information will help us better determine what may be happening here.

Thanks so much for replying ​@djv . So let me clarify further. I do have the Version history drop down at the top. (image attached) But that seems to only log when I use the AI chat  e.g move section under facilities. and it performs an action then it will show on the version history. However when I manually make a change there is no record.  Like you have on the left side (Edited 1 file +5 -5). I used to see that along side a save button but no more. Its blank. Image attached. I am using the online web version.
I have lost some work as a result of that. Its across all Figma make files.

It’s terrible to hear that you’ve lost work. The previous “Edited 1 file” card has changed, but manual edits should still show a changes control that lets you review and save them as a restore point. Seeing that area completely blank across all your Make files isn’t expected.

In the meantime, I recommend using the AI chat for any edits that need a version checkpoint, since those changes are appearing correctly in your version history.
