Figma Make Prompt Stuck on “Thinking” and Design Not Visible on Canvas

I am facing an issue while using Figma Make.

Whenever I enter a prompt, it keeps showing “Thinking…” for a long time. On the left panel, it indicates that the design has been successfully created (for example: “Design ICTORA SaaS Application – Version 1”).

However, the actual design does not appear on the canvas at all.

Issue details:

  • Prompt shows “Done” after submission
  • Left panel shows the design is generated
  • But nothing is visible on the canvas (blank screen)

I have already tried:

  • Clicking on the generated design from the left panel
  • Refreshing the page
  • Trying different prompts
  • Checking zoom and layers

But the issue still persists.

This is affecting my workflow as I cannot view or use the generated designs.

Could you please check if this is a bug or suggest a solution?

Hey @Mobilions, welcome to Figma Forum, and thanks for the thorough write-up. Appreciate you troubleshooting before posting — that detail helps a lot.

To help narrow this down, could you check the following?

  1. Platform and version: Does this happen in the browser, the Figma Desktop App, or both? Could you also confirm you're running a supported browser and that the app is on version 126.2.10 or later?
  2. Error messages: I know you're seeing a blank canvas rather than an error, but if anything does surface — this guide covers known Make errors and how to address them: Troubleshoot in Figma Make.

Please let me know if either of these checks help. I'll keep an eye out for your reply. If none of this points to a fix, I'll escalate for further review and we can take a deeper look at the file directly.

Hello! I’ve faced the same problem. I set the prompt more than 2 hours ago, but the download indicator is still hanging and there is no visual display (only blank screen), while the AI says that the file has been generated successfully.  I tried to refresh the page, open it in different browsers and in the mobile application. I checked the update and the latest version of the app is installed. An error is being detected now, visualization is impossible (the two files I created contain the same error, although the promts and AI models are different) Can you please check if this is a bug?

Hello! I am facing the same issue since the past few days.
i have tried all the steps highlighted across multiple posts.

  • Issue is across all files. Only a few old files are showing up in preview.
  • Tried Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Figma Desktop App on Mac to test out
  • Shut down Zscaler but cannot keep it shut since it is a company laptop.
  • Tried opening in fullscreen preview to no avail
  • Opened copy of the file and tried giving it a new prompt
  • restoring an earlier version

I have burnt quite a few credits trying to test this out. None of these options seem to be working. Please help resolve this.

Hi @Rohan D, thanks so much for taking the time to share all these details — this is really helpful, especially with everything you’ve already tried across browsers, the desktop app, and different files.

I’ve gone ahead and created a support ticket for you so the team can take a closer look and investigate this properly, your case number is #1850261

In the meantime, if you’re able to, it would really help the investigation if you could reply to the ticket with:

  • A link to one of the affected files
  • A quick screen recording of what you’re seeing (especially the preview issue)
  • Share the file with support-share@figma.com and grant “Can View” access (this won’t impact your billing and will allow us to reproduce the issue)

Thanks again for flagging this, the team will follow up with you directly via your inbox once they’ve had a closer look.
