Question

Figma Make Persistent Error

Matthew Davis

I keep receiving the error: “Something went wrong. Please refresh or try again later.”

I have tried to remediate the issue by:

  • trying again a day later
  • duplicating the file and trying again
  • clearing app cache
  • trying desktop vs web
  • reverting back to previous builds

No luck on any of the above. Any suggestions? Have I hit a max amount of prompts?

Frustrating as I’ve reached a point in my prototype that needs fixes and it is locked up.

Hi @Matthew Davis, thanks for reaching out and flagging this issue.

Because of the generative nature of Figma Make and AI models, prompts can occasionally fail for reasons that aren’t always visible. In many cases, waiting a short while and trying again will resolve the issue. Really appreciate you taking the time to troubleshoot — I’ll pass this post along to the team on our side to take a closer look.

Keep an eye on the email tied to your account for a follow-up. In the meantime, here are more details that may be helpful: Troubleshoot in Figma Make.

Hi @Matthew Davis, quick follow-up from me. I’ve connected with our engineering team and they’re ready to take a closer look at the file where you’re hitting this error.

When you get a chance, either reply to the open ticket via email or reach out to our Support team directly with:

  • a screen recording of what leads to the error message (if you can grab one)
  • a link to the file
  • edit access granted to support-share@figma.com.

That should give them what they need to dig in and move things forward. Let me know if you run into any issues along the way.

Hi Tom,

apologies for delayed reply - but the fix worked and I’ve been continuing to jam on various prototypes - all very useful and helpful to our company

best,

Matthew
