Hi all,
I’m very new to Figma/Make and I’m stuck with a duplication issue.
I have a fairly large prototype file. When I try to Duplicate it, Figma hangs for a while and then shows the message “Duplicate failed” and no copy appears.
What I’m seeing:

File feels slow/laggy while editing.

File → Duplicate → long wait → “Duplicate failed” → no new file.
What I’ve tried:

Reloading Figma and my browser (Chrome on macOS).

Waiting for “All changes saved” before duplicating.

Trying to duplicate just a single page / copy–pasting frames into a new file.
As a beginner, I’m not sure if this is a file size/complexity limit, a Make bug, or something I’m doing wrong.
What’s the best way to get a backup copy of this file when normal duplication fails?
Any advice in simple terms would really help
