I have successfully uploaded images in Figma Make numerous times but today, i’m trying to upload an image to replace an old one on our Figma Make site and the image will not show up, it’s showing broken despite trying dozens of times. The AI tool is now telling me I can’t upload an image using the “Upload an image” feature built into the chat which is what i’ve used before, and that I need to upload it through the asset library which I’ve never done before and have no idea where it is. I did upload it to my account and provided the embed code and that didn’t work either. i’ve gone through thousands of credits troubleshooting this with the tool. So frustrating.

Hi @LC73 — Celyn from Figma Community Support here.

Thanks for sharing all of this context —I understand that you’re trying to upload an image, but it appears broken after publishing despite multiple troubleshooting attempts.

I’ve located your support ticket (#1824460) and have escalated it internally to increase its visibility.

In the meantime, here are a few things you can try to help narrow this down:

  • Try adding the image directly to your site file using Image/video (hift + Cmd + K on Mac / Shift + Ctrl + K on Windows), then placing it on the page and republishing
  • If you’re replacing an existing image, try removing the affected image first and then adding it again
  • Try viewing the published URL in a browser with any ad blockers or privacy extensions disabled, as these can sometimes block images from loading
  • Swap the image with a smaller, simpler version (lower resolution/file size) and republish to see if that changes the behavior
  • As a quick isolation test, try exporting the same asset as PNG and publishing again to see if that version loads correctly

If helpful, this guide outlines how images are added and handled in Figma Sites/Make:
https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/33666207487767-Add-images-and-video-to-a-site

Hope this helps in the meantime. Please keep an eye on your inbox — someone from the team will follow up on your ticket shortly and guide you through the next steps 🙏

Hey @SoreThumbs, thanks for reaching out.

The issue mentioned in this post was linked to a bug from earlier this month, and a fix has already been rolled out. Just wanted to check if you’ve had a chance to try the troubleshooting steps shared above:

If you’ve already gone through those and the issue is still happening, the best next step would be to submit a bug report so the team can take a closer look at what’s happening in your specific setup.

You can do that by:

  • Going to the Support Hub
  • Clicking Start a chat
  • Typing “Report a bug”

When submitting, it would be really helpful to include:

  • A direct link to the affected file
  • Invite support-share@figma.com with “Can View” access (Note that this will not impact your billing and allows us to reproduce and investigate the issue with Engineering)
  • Any screenshots or screen recordings showing the issue

Thanks!
