Figma is slow and freezing often (issue with latest update?)

Figma is freezing very often, I started noticing it in the past few days. It usually happens when I select several frames at once, or try to move things… but it also feels random at times.

It’s hard to stop working for a few seconds every few operations just to wait for Figma to respond.

Hi @Thyago Furtado

Thanks for flagging this! I understand you’ve been experiencing performance issues since last week.

This might be related to a known issue that has already been addressed.

I also saw that you submitted a performance report (ticket #1632472 — thank you!). In that ticket, you mentioned you’re using Figma Desktop App 125.10.8 on Mac and have already tried restarting multiple times.

Could you please try fully reloading your tab so your Figma app can pick up the fix?

If you’re still seeing the issue after refreshing Figma, here are a few more things you can try that might help:

  • Try clearing the Figma Desktop app cache and restarting to see if that makes any difference. Guide: Clear the Figma desktop app cache

  • Does the same thing happen if you use Figma in a supported browser? (Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox)

  • If possible, could you try connecting from a different network, like a mobile hotspot, and see if the issue still happens?

If the issue continues, please reply to your ticket email with:

  • A video recording of the issue, showing the full Figma window

  • The results of the troubleshooting steps above

This will help our technical quality team take a closer look more effectively.

Thanks,

Also freezing badly when copying an object and pasting it, especially if pasting over several objects to replace them (CMD+Shift+R). It wasn’t like that a few days ago.

Also when deleting objects. After restarting a few times the issue persists. Figma is nearly unusable currently.

Thank you @Junko3 the problem seems to be fixed after restarting and reloading the tabs. It was definitely a faux paux from the release team. I’d rather not receive updates than have half-baked solutions that break more of the product than improve it.

Can we turn off automatic updates in Figma?
