Figma is laggier with annotations on than when they are turned off

Does anyone else have the following problem?

When annotations are visible on both dev and design mode, the Figma UI is laggier than when annotations are turned off where it’s more smoother? This is the case regardless if I have 5 or 20+ annotations on the screen.

I have sufficient RAM on both the file and my laptop so it should be fine.

Thanks for flagging this issue. Could you try the troubleshooting below?

  • Close any Figma tabs you're not using
  • Browser: Force-quit and open Figma in a new browser window.
  • Desktop App: Force-quit the Figma Desktop app and restart it. If the issue persists, try clearing the cache.

If the issue still continues, could you submit a performance report please: http://figma.bot/submitreport?

I have tried all of these steps but it hasn’t improved anything but I have submitted a ticket to support - thanks for your help!
