Figma freezing when panning

Have been experiencing more often lately after the latest updates on Figma - whenever I hold spacebar  + mouse to pan around my file, it often freezes to pan. The screen itself doesn’t freeze, able to zoom in and out but I’m unable to select layers, move them nor edit them. Also switching tools doesn’t work as well as it seems it got stuck to pan.

I tested panning on the Figma Desktop App (126.5.6) just now and it's working as expected on my end, so I'd like to get a look at the file where this is happening for you. I've opened a ticket on your behalf with our Technical Quality team — your case number is: 1961259. Please check your inbox for an email from me with steps on sharing file access securely.

A couple of things worth trying in the meantime:

  1. Check your app version: Can you confirm you're running 126.5.6 or later? If not, updating may help: What are the system requirements for Figma?
  2. Try a different input method: Does the issue still occur if you use two fingers on your trackpad to pan instead of spacebar + mouse?
