Figma file loads extremely slowly, but the duplicate loads perfectly.

Question

I have a Figma file that has recently become extremely slow to load and work with. What’s strange is that when I duplicate the exact same file, the duplicated version loads normally without any issues.

I initially suspected it might be related to memory usage, but when I checked, the file was only using around 16% of the available memory, so that doesn't seem to explain the behavior.

One thing that stands out is the number of comments in the original file. I'm wondering if comments, comment history, or some other file-level metadata could be contributing to the performance issue.

The comment heads do not show up at all on the original file and the comment sidebar doesn’t load at all. The number of open comments were around 140+. I cannot recall the total number of comments including the closed items.

Additionally, for the meantime, is there a way to extract the comments from the file? Our team cannot work with the comments not loading at all.
