Figma failing when exporting huge pdf from slides

Yesterday we tried to upload a 160-slide presentation, quite large (total size 250 MB). But we couldn't upload it in its entirety, even though we tried multiple times from different devices. We had to split the presentation into 30-slide sections and upload them that way, then combine them. What happens is either some of the slides are damaged, or Figma crashes and asks to reboot, or the file is uploaded, but instead of all the pictures there are purple squares.

Hi @Mint Community

I understand that you’re experiencing issues with a large Figma Slides file (160 slides, ~250 MB), including crashes, corrupted slides, and purple placeholder squares.

To clarify, are you experiencing this issue when:

Importing the PDF into Figma, or Exporting your Figma Slides to PDF?

Here are the related guides for reference:

Also, does this happen in a supported browser, in the desktop app, or in both?

Regarding the purple squares: it seems that these can occur when images haven’t fully loaded before export, or when the GPU may not have enough memory to fully render all the images in the file.

At the moment, like you tried Exporting the file in smaller sections is an alternative solution.

For now, exporting the file in smaller sections, as you’ve done, seems to be an alternative.

If you continue experiencing issues even when exporting in smaller sections, please share more details. We can then guide you further or escalate if needed.

Thanks,
