Alessandro Aurnia

Hi everyone,
I’m currently using the Figma Education plan and I’d like to understand which AI-powered features are included.

Specifically, I’m wondering if the Education plan gives access to tools such as:

  • Background removal

  • “Edit with prompt”

  • “Expand” / generative resize

If these features are available, could someone explain how to access or enable them inside Figma?

Thanks in advance for the clarification!

Honestly, I’d like to know too since I’m using education plan, but I cannot find any AI button or see AI balance

Hey everyone, Celine from Figma here! Thanks for your interest in Figma AI features.

At the moment, most Figma AI features are only available on paid plans (Professional, Organization, and Enterprise). That’s why you won’t see an AI button when using the Education (or Starter) plans. You can read more here.

Also, a quick note about Figma Make, if you are interested in that feature, it is available for higher-education and bootcamp users (not K-12).
If you’re unsure which Education category applies to you, you can contact education@figma.com for clarification.

If you’d like access to Figma AI features (such as Edit with prompt, background removal, or generative resize), you’ll need to create a separate paid Professional plan outside of the Education plan. This plan includes AI features, unlimited files, and additional collaboration tools. You can also check the Figma AI FAQ for more details.

Hope this helps clarify!
