figma app only shows white screen not even loadin buttins

A white screen in the Figma desktop app can happen for a few reasons — let's work through some quick fixes. Are you using the desktop app on Windows or Mac?
In the meantime, here are some things you can try:
- Force-quit the Figma desktop app and relaunch it.
- Clear the desktop app cache — this often resolves white screen issues.
- If you're on Windows and still see a white or black screen after clearing cache, right-click the Figma icon in your system tray, go to Troubleshooting, and uncheck Prefer High-Performance GPU .
If the white screen is happening in a specific file rather than the whole app, it may be caused by image memory — let me know and I can walk you through opening the file in thumbnail mode .

0x80004005 error is given

That error code can appear when the Figma desktop app has trouble launching properly. Let's try clearing the desktop app cache, which often resolves this kind of issue.
Since you mentioned the white screen earlier, could you confirm whether you're on Windows or Mac so I can give you the right steps?

windows.

Here's how to clear the desktop app cache on Windows:
- Force-quit the Figma desktop app.
- Open the Start menu.
- Enter
%APPDATA%\Figma - In the window that opens, delete the Desktop and DesktopProfile folders, the
font_cachefile, and thesettingsfile if they exist. - Launch the desktop app.
If the white screen and error persist after that, right-click the Figma icon in your system tray, go to Troubleshooting, and uncheck Prefer High-Performance GPU . You can also check out the full troubleshooting checklist for additional steps .
i try to delete.. when deleting desktop profile give this error 0x80004005

That error can occur if the Figma process is still running in the background and locking the folder. Let's make sure it's fully closed before trying again.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Look for any process named "Figma" in the list.
- If you find one, right-click it and select End task.
- Now try deleting the DesktopProfile folder again from the
%APPDATA%\Figmawindow.
If Figma doesn't appear in Task Manager, try restarting your computer and then deleting the folder before relaunching the app .
yeah i already removed those

Since the cache is cleared and you're still getting that error, let's try a couple of other approaches:
- Restart your computer if you haven't already, then try launching the Figma desktop app again.
- If the app still shows a white screen, right-click the Figma icon in your system tray, go to Troubleshooting, and uncheck Prefer High-Performance GPU.
- If you don't see the Figma icon in your system tray, try running the app as administrator — right-click the Figma shortcut and select Run as administrator.
If none of these resolve the issue, you can also try using Figma in your browser at figma.com while we continue troubleshooting. Let me know what happens after the restart!
nop still cant clear the ach clearly as givein ghte error 0x80004005 even though forcelfly closed teh app

That error can sometimes be caused by Windows itself locking the folder due to permissions or a background process. Let's try a different approach:
- Restart your computer (not just a shutdown — a full restart).
- Before opening any apps, open the Start menu and enter
%APPDATA%\Figma. - Try deleting the DesktopProfile folder immediately.
If that still doesn't work, try deleting it from an elevated command prompt:
- Open the Start menu, type
cmd, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator. - Enter this command:
rmdir /s /q "%APPDATA%\Figma\DesktopProfile"
Let me know if either of these works!

Great, that's progress! Now try launching the Figma desktop app again to see if the white screen and error are resolved. Let me know how it goes!

Let's try a couple more things:
- Right-click the Figma icon in your system tray, go to Troubleshooting, and uncheck Prefer High-Performance GPU .
- If you don't see the Figma icon in your system tray, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Figma desktop app entirely.
In the meantime, you can access Figma in your browser at figma.com while we work through this. Can you try the Prefer High-Performance GPU toggle and let me know if you see the Figma icon in your system tray?
did both steps.. yeah i can access figma on broweser..

Good to know the browser version works fine — that confirms your account and files are intact. Since the desktop app is still showing a white screen after clearing cache, reinstalling, and toggling the GPU setting, let's gather some diagnostic information.
Can you try these steps and share the results?
- Export console logs from the desktop app
- Download Figma desktop app debug logs
Also, could you share what graphics card your computer has? You can check by opening the Start menu, typing dxdiag, and looking under the Display tab. This will help narrow down whether it's a graphics compatibility issue.

both pages are not showing.. you gave me.. Name Intel(R) UHD Graphics PNP Device ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9B41&SUBSYS_13451025&REV_02\3&11583659&0&10 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz, 2112 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) Name NVIDIA GeForce MX230

You have both an integrated Intel UHD Graphics and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce MX230 — this dual-GPU setup can cause the white screen issue in the desktop app. Since the Prefer High-Performance GPU toggle didn't help, let's try forcing the app to use your NVIDIA card directly:
- Right-click on your desktop and open the NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Go to Manage 3D Settings under the 3D Settings section.
- Under the Program Settings tab, select Figma from the dropdown (or click Add and browse for the Figma app if it's not listed).
- Set the preferred graphics processor to High-performance NVIDIA processor.
- Click Apply, then relaunch the Figma desktop app.
If Figma isn't listed in the dropdown, you may need to click Add, then Browse, and navigate to the Figma executable (usually at C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Figma\app-x.x.x\Figma.exe).
Let me know if this resolves the white screen!
