Figma Design AI beta credit cap

  • I’m using the Figma agent beta in Figma Design and got an out of daily credits message.
  • My AI balance still shows credits remaining, so this appears separate from regular AI credits (Figma Make).
  • I do not see a reset time, Learn more link, or any way to track the beta’s daily limit.
  • Can someone confirm the daily limit for the beta and whether there is a way to view remaining usage?

I’m on starter plan. I have 20/500 credits left according to my usage plans (after relogging).

Hi @rosenkr, thanks for reaching out!

I understand the confusion here, so I’d be happy to help clarify. The AI balance menu tracks your regular AI credits, which is what Figma Make and other AI features draw from. But the Figma agent doesn't consume those same credits while it's in beta. It runs against a separate beta allowance instead. This is likely why your balance can still show credits remaining while the agent is blocked. There are limits on the beta to help manage capacity while the feature is free, and hitting them won't affect your credits for other AI features.

There isn't an in-product way to track your remaining beta usage today, but I’d be happy to pass this feedback onto our team. Two things that should help right now:

  • If you saw a request additional credits option in the message, submit it. Those requests are reviewed regularly and are the fastest way to get unblocked before the reset.
  • Your access should returns automatically when the limit resets.

Lastly, could you share a screenshot of the exact message you saw, including anything below the main text? You mentioned "daily" and knowing the precise wording and whether a reset date appeared will tell us whether you hit the expected block or something else that needs a closer look by our team.

@djv Thanks for you explanation that there is no in-product way of tracking beta usage right now. I think it would be good to pass on a request for such a feature because

  1. I saw other posts with similar confusion
  2. The message says to upgrade the plan, but when I go to the upgrade plan page, there is no mention of any plan including unlimited (or “more”) of these hidden beta AI credits, so i’m hesitant to upgrade my plan because I only need the AI agent for designing a mobile app, not the Figma Make AI which seems to work with web apps in React

As you can see, no countdown timer. By the way, as of writing this message, my local date has passed from Aug 17 to Aug 18 ( I thought it would reset at midnight )

Edit: It reset now and I can use the tool again.
