Question

Figma App: Header Area not reacting properly on iPhone

noodle312

Hi there!

I’ve encountered an issue when running my mobile prototypes on an iPhone with the Figma App.

Actions placed in the header area (around 44px from the top) will not react on click/tap events. I have run some tests (see the screenshot)

The green squares react on the on click event and open the overlay. The red ones don’t.
The third square reacts from the bottom half of it.
Also tested it with bigger squares to make sure that the clickable area isn’t to small, but had the same result.

The issue occured on: iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Plus.
However it worked on an iPhone SE (with the black bars on top and bottom).
It also works as expected on a Samsung Galaxy A40.

Thank you in advance!
Michael

Same problem here.

I reported this inside the Figma app…

Yesterday I was using the Figma app and the prototype was working just fine, but not today!

Also experiencing same issue and have a deadline to prep prototype. Figma, please help!

Greg_Arroyo

I’m having the same problem. I also noticed that when this started I can now also see the iOS system status bar on top of my prototype. Neither of these issues were happening yesterday or for the past month that I have working on this prototype.

Dejan_Djuric

I forgot to mention that. Yes, the status bar is now visible, and because I already have a status bar in my design, now it’s double and overlapping.

This and the previously mentioned problem with hotspots is the case only when you open the prototype but not when using a mirror mode.

Okay guys, I found out something interesting:

The bug is related to this bug I created this morning: [Figma App: iOS Status Bar hides after two-finger long press]

The header area is working properly WHEN the status bar is hidden!

How to recreate:

  1. Start prototype
  2. Two-Finger long press (iOS Status bar disappears)
  3. Actions in the header area are triggered ✅

After second two-finger long press the status bar appears again and the actions aren’t triggered anymore.

Dejan_Djuric

I opened my prototype, a two-finger long press, and I got the prototype menu, but the status bar is still visible and I can’t click in the upper section of the header.

So, not working for me.

Which version of the Figma App are you using?
The had a release 15 hours ago (24.12.0) I had to trigger the update manually from the app store… hopefully this helps you 🤞

Dejan_Djuric

Nice, I have updated the app manually and it’s working like you said. Thanks!

It’s better than it was, but the problem is still there. Hopefully, they will sort this out in the next update.

Greg_Arroyo

I actually think Version 24.12.0 is what caused this bug. The timing of this release is when the bug started. Their previous release was a week ago and everything worked fine up until their release yesterday.

Nils_Mewes

Seems to be fixed with the latest update for ‎Figma on the App Store

Dejan_Djuric

This bug is fixed on the latest update of Figma app 🙌

Works partially for me…

it works as expected as long as the iOS status bar is hidden.
After a two-finger long press the status bar appears and the header area is still not responding… 😕

Version: 24.13.0
Phone: iPhone 13 Pro Max

Hey there,
It can be a bit annoying when your app icons seem tiny on your iPhone screen. There are a few things you can try to adjust the icon size.
Zoom:- Your iPhone likely has a zoom setting that can make everything on the screen, including app icons, appear larger.
Display & Brightness:- In your phone’s settings, you might find options to adjust the display size and text. Increasing the text size can sometimes make the app icons appear larger as well.
Accessibility:- Your phone’s accessibility settings might have options to adjust the display size and font for better readability. These settings can also sometimes affect the size of app icons.

If you are facing the issue after trying these solution, you can follow for more details instruction below.
