Is there a way to export an AI generated page into a regular figma design file and then edit from that?

Hi @Celia Bizien ,

I understand you'd like to export a Figma Make file into a regular Figma Design file so you can edit it directly.

At the moment, Figma Design isn’t directly integrated with Figma Make, so there's no built-in way to transfer a generated page into a design file for full editing.

That said, you can still make certain adjustments within Figma Make itself using the Point and Edit tool. More details on this are available in our Help Center here: Can I edit my functional prototype or web app with Figma Design tools?

This topic is also being discussed as a feature request in the community here: figma make to figma design

You can click the “Copy Design” CTA up top in Make, go to your design file and paste. This is a relatively new feature from Make, so idk if you came across it already.

Do wish it’d create/match components from an existing Design System library though. But if you’re starting fresh it should do the trick, you can then start componetizing from the frame based layout that you paste in the design file.

@miggi , wondering if y’all have been thinking about component matching as an upgrade to Make for the next Config, that’d be sweet!! 👀 #design-system-magic
