Hello,

I wanted to ask about access to Figma AI (the sparkle icon) in my account. Since the day I created my account, I have never seen the Figma AI sparkle icon in my interface. However, one of my friends—who also has a free account—already has access to it.

Could you please check if there is any issue with my account or if my account is not included in the rollout yet? I would really appreciate it if you could enable access for my account if possible.

I understand you're having trouble accessing Figma AI.


Checking your account on our end, I see you have full seats in several Student teams, and View seat in your Starter team.

This likely explains the situation, as Figma AI access depends on your plan and seat type:

  • Education Plans: Most AI features and settings are currently not enabled for users on Education plans.
  • Starter Plans: While some features might appear, most Figma AI features are only available on paid plans.

I tested this on my own Starter team, and attempting to use "Remove background," for example, prompts an upgrade modal. I recommend checking which team your file is located in and confirming your seat type for that specific team.
