Figma Agent not accessible on Higher Education Plan — No Agents option visible in my sidebar

Hi Figma ,

I am a student at NIFT Jodhpur on the Figma for Higher Education plan. I have been trying to access the Figma AI Agent in my design files but I am unable to see the "Agents" option in the left sidebar or the on-canvas prompt.

Here are the details of my situation:

• Plan: Figma for Higher Education
• Seat type: Full seat
• Access: Edit access on my design files
• AI Credits: 3,000 credits visible in my account
• Issue: No "Agents" option visible in the left navigation bar or on canvas

My questions:

1. Is the Figma Agent currently available for Higher Education plan users, or is it restricted to Professional, Organization, and Enterprise plans only?

2. If it is not currently available for Education plans, is there a timeline for when it will be rolled out?

3. Regarding AI credit limits during beta — the current documentation states that the Agent is free during beta and does not consume AI credits. Does this mean usage is unlimited during the beta period, or are there still restrictions for Education plan users?

I have already checked that AI features are enabled on my account (other AI features like Rename layers work fine). The issue seems specific to the Agent feature.

Any clarification from the Figma team or community would be very helpful!

    I understand the confusion here, so I’d be happy to help clarify and explain. The Figma Agent is now available for Higher Education plan users, but it just started rolling out yesterday. Most users in the rollout should receive access by the end of the day today.

     

    If you haven't already, try a hard refresh or restart of Figma. The Agents icon should appear in the left sidebar of your design files once access lands on your account. You'll also get an email from us when it does.

     

    On credits: for Education plans, agent usage draws from your 3,000 monthly AI credits rather than being unlimited. They reset each month. (You may have seen a note that the agent is free during beta and doesn't consume credits that applies to other plans, not Education. We're getting that clarified in the docs.)
