Hi Figma team,
I wanted to share a bit of feedback that could improve the experience of working with AI-generated content in Figma. I frequently use AI tools (like ChatGPT) to generate structured content, especially tables formatted in markdown. When I copy these tables into platforms like Google Docs or Microsoft Word, the structure is preserved and rendered as expected.
However, when pasting the same content into Figma, the markdown formatting is lost—tables end up appearing as plain chained text, which makes them unreadable and requires manual cleanup or reformatting.
Steps to Reproduce:
-
Ask an AI (e.g. ChatGPT) to create a markdown-formatted table.
-
Copy the output and paste it into Figma.
-
Observe that the table structure is not maintained—no columns or row alignment, just plain text.
It would be a huge productivity win if Figma could improve its support for markdown-like structures, or at least offer better parsing for common table formats used in pasted text.
Thanks for your amazing work—Figma continues to be a core tool in my workflow!
Best, Alireza
