  • You can describe the issue as: "fast_apply_tool reporting success but not actually applying file changes, requiring multiple attempts for the same fix"
  • The specific error pattern was: fixing JSX syntax onNavigateToNearest(() => to onNavigateToNearest={() => required multiple tool calls despite success messages

I have been using hours and Figma Make is fixing the same problem over and over again

Hi @Henrik Hvid Jensen, thanks for reaching out about this issue!

Just to confirm, are you still able to see the Make preview, or is it showing a blank preview or is it stuck at a specific version?

Here are a few recommendations to help resolve this:

  1. Try asking Make to fix the specific error by copying the exact error message from the browser console and prompt Make to investigate it. An example prompt would be: “I’m getting [this error - insert error message/ID] when trying to view this Make. Can you figure out why this is happening and how to fix it?”
  2. If the error started recently, revert to an earlier version of your Make and see if the issue still occurs. This can help narrow down what change introduced the issue.
  3. If the cause isn’t clear, prompt Make to add targeted console messages to help diagnose the issue.
  • Run the Make again and observe the new console output
  • Copy the console messages back into Make and ask it to continue debugging based on that information

These back-and-forth baby steps often help Make pinpoint the root cause and propose a fix.

If the issue persists, could you kindly share a URL link to your Make file and invite support-share@figma.com with 'can view' access. I can help connect you with our technical quality team to investigate further.
