Extremely Unpleasant Experience with Unexpected AI Credit Drain

Dear Figma Support Team,

I am having an extremely unpleasant and stressful experience. I’m on the professional plan, and after purchasing additional credits multiple times, the balance continues to drain rapidly, even though I hardly use any AI features. Most disturbingly, I recently added 5,000 credits, but only about 1,500 were actually used with my awareness. Despite that, I see a huge drop in credits every single day, even when I’m not making any changes. In fact, 1,340 credits were consumed on a simple layout fix that I never expected to use any AI. Most of the time, Figma doesn't even make any visible changes after these actions, yet credits keep draining. This is now preventing me from accessing my designs, and my work is completely stuck.

This is a huge disruption, and I need immediate clarification and resolution. Please investigate why credits are being consumed without any action from me, as this is severely impacting my project and productivity.

Sincerely,

Same happened to me, Their credit system gone crazy after credit limitations. They purposefully provoke us to purchase more credits. Previously a product can be created with 700 to 1000 credits now its not. For the attached case they charged me more than 800 credits

Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to share all these details.

I can see your main concern is around credits being consumed faster than expected, including in cases where no visible changes were made or when you weren’t actively using AI features.

As a bit of general context, Figma uses an agentic AI system, so credit usage can vary depending on factors like the complexity of the task, the model being used, and the amount of context involved. Requests that require multiple steps or more advanced processing may use more credits, and usage can also differ depending on the model selected. For instance, Claude Opus 4.6 is more powerful and uses more credits than the default model.
