Export section completely disappeared from the Design panel after UI3 update ( (owner of the file, can't export)

Hi everyone,

After the UI3 update, the Export section completely disappeared from the right sidebar in Design mode.

Yesterday it was there as usual, at the bottom of the Design panel. Today it's completely gone.

I have already checked everything:

  • I'm in Design mode.
  • I'm the owner of the file.
  • The right sidebar is visible.
  • I selected frames, components, vectors, and images.
  • I scrolled all the way to the bottom of the Design panel.
  • I also created a new export setting before, so I know exactly where the Export section should be.

The Export section is simply no longer there.

If I try to export using keyboard shortcuts, Figma shows the message:

"You are not allowed to export this file."

Has anyone experienced the same issue after the UI3 update?

Did the Export section disappear for anyone else? If so, how did you fix it?

    Update: The issue was resolved after I duplicated the file. The Export section reappeared in the duplicated version, and shortly after, it also became visible in the original file. I'm not sure whether duplicating the file triggered something or whether the issue was resolved on Figma's side, but everything is working normally now.

    Thanks for sharing the update! I'm glad to hear everything is working normally again. It sounds like this may have been a temporary issue. While I wasn't able to reproduce the behavior on my end, I appreciate you sharing that duplicating the file appeared to help, as it may be useful if anyone else encounters something similar.

      My team experienced this issue as well, I was not the file creator but I was able to export frames, but the file owner was unable to export frames today even though it worked earlier this week.

      Duplicating the file worked for us too, but it’s an interesting issue to be sure.
