Export GIF in Figma buzz

Hi,

I’ve been trying to add animations to our content templates. I created the animations using the Figma Design animation tool, exported them as MP4 files, and then added them to Figma Buzz templates.

I need to export them as GIF files, this worked well, and last Friday (25 Sep.) I tested that I could export the templates as GIFs from Figma Buzz. However, this Monday (29 Sep.), I’m no longer able to export them as GIFs.

I need the GIF format to combine GIFs and images in a carousel on LinkedIn.

Has this feature been removed over the weekend? If so, do you know when it will be available again?

We don't have anything on our end indicating this was an intentional change or removal and we don't have this flagged as a known issue on our end, so the best way for us to help is to take a direct look at your specific file. 

Could you reach out to our customer support team through the Support Hub, it'll help if you can include:

  • A link to the file, with Can view access granted to support-share@figma.com
  • Whether you're exporting from the browser or the desktop app (and if desktop, whether it's on the latest version)
  • Whether MP4 export still works from the same template
  • Whether GIF still shows up as an export option at all, or has disappeared from the list

Once that's submitted, our team will be able to investigate this. Feel free to reply here too if anything changes in the meantime!
