Hi @Peter Steele,

I understand you’re encountering the “Project too large” error.

Are you seeing this message in Figma Make, and does the issue remain even after trying to delete some files?

If so, this usually happens when one or more files in the project exceed the 1MB size limit, which prevents the AI chat in Figma Make from functioning properly.

To resolve the issue—although you may have already tried this—please double-check for any oversized files.

These will be marked with a warning icon next to the filename in the left sidebar of the Code editor: You can try shortening or deleting the problematic files.

Once those files are fixed or removed, you can prompt Figma Make again to resolve any issues introduced by shortening the files.

If the steps above don’t work, try duplicating your file and starting fresh with the optimized content.

You can check more details here: Troubleshooting resources for Figma Make

If none of these steps help, could you confirm a few things so we can narrow down the issue?

  • Are you experiencing this in both the Figma browser and desktop app?

  • Does the issue persist after restarting your computer?

If it continues, please share:

  • A screenshot of the full Figma window
  • The results of the troubleshooting steps above.

This will help us understand exactly what you’re seeing and how we can best assist you.

Alternatively, you can contact us privately by following these steps:
Click the (?) icon in the app → select Contact us or visit Hi there. How can we help? → type your question → click Start Chat.
The chatbot will guide you through opening an email case with our Support team.

Thanks,
