There are a few things that could be causing this — let's work through them. Please check the following and let me know how it goes:
Server type: Are you using the remote or desktop MCP server? This matters because the remote server is available on all plans, while the desktop server requires a Dev or Full seat on a paid plan. More details here: Guide to the Figma MCP server.
Permissions: Make sure the account you're using belongs to the same plan as the file you're trying to access.
File link: Confirm the link you're passing is a valid Figma Design, FigJam, or Figma Make file.
Restart your session: If you've already registered the MCP server, try restarting your Claude Code session.
