Educational Account Application Status for a primary school - UK

Hello Figma Education Team and Community,

I am writing to follow up on an application for a Figma Educational Account that was submitted over a month ago. We have not yet received any confirmation, decision, or status update since the initial submission.

We are from a primary school in the UK and are eager to integrate Figma into our curriculum to benefit our students. This extended delay is unfortunately hindering our planning for the current academic term.

  • Issue: Application pending for over four weeks.

  • Application Details: Submitted by a primary school in the UK.

Could someone from the Figma Education team please check the status of pending applications?

Alternatively, if any community members have recently gone through the approval process, could you please share your experience regarding the current processing time?

Any guidance or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I understand your concern about not hearing back regarding your Education verification application.

 

While we’re not able to directly assist with account verification requests here in the Forum, I noticed that you’ve already reached out to education@figma.com about this (thank you!), and I can confirm that our Education team is currently reviewing your mail.

They review requests in the order they’re received, and the current response time is up to 5 business days — please rest assured that you’ll hear back from them soon.

Just to make sure everything’s connected, I’ve also shared this forum post with the team handling your ticket(#1562636), so please continue the conversation directly through your existing email thread for any updates.

It has been more than 5 business days now and haven't received any answer.

Does anyone know what else can be done, as we are returning back to school on Monday and everyone is hoping to have this working?

Hi all,

We are deeply disappointed and concerned by the opaque nature of the domain verification process. We received a succinct, unexplained response that our school's domain cannot be confidently verified, and our subsequent email seeking clarification and alternative solutions was left unanswered.

The new school term has just begun and the educational delivery for our students relies significantly on Figma. Being unable to access this essential resource due to a lack of communication and an unresolved verification is causing significant disruption to our children's education.

We must insist that you provide a full explanation for the verification failure and offer immediate, actionable steps or alternative methods (e.g., specific documentation) that we can use to secure access for our students without further delay.

Hi all,

We need immediate, professional help with our domain verification—this is now causing severe disruption to our students' education.

Frankly, we are deeply disappointed and concerned by how opaque and unhelpful this process has been, and the lack of communication that is actively preventing resolution.

Here are the specific, unaddressed problems:

  1. Opaque Verification Failure: We received a ridiculously short, unexplained note saying our school's domain 'cannot be confidently verified.' That's it. We have zero actionable details.

  2. Lack of Response: Our follow-up email, which offered to send specific documentation, has been completely ignored.

  3. False Resolution: To make matters worse, the previous forum post we opened on this issue was closed with the message that 'the report has been resolved. Thank you for reporting, you helped us improve this community!' How has this been resolved? And what community was improved? Our school's community is currently blocked from using an essential teaching resource.

The new school term has just started, and our students literally need Figma to learn. This administrative blockage—compounded by being told the problem is 'resolved' when it clearly is not—is now seriously disrupting our children's education.

We are insisting on two things:

  1. A full, detailed explanation for the verification failure. We need more than one sentence; we need the actual criteria we failed to meet.

  2. An immediate, actionable fix. What specific documentation do you need, or what alternative verification method can we use to secure access for our students?

Please understand that we can't wait. Our students shouldn't have their education delayed because of administrative silence.

Hi ​@Gabriel Chelaru - first, I apologize that this has been a frustrating experience for you. I saw you had created a new topic, and merged it to this one to keep everything consistent.

I understand that you’d like more clarification, and that you’d like it asap. The community moderation team do not have access or visibility into any of the verification process. Unfortunately, that means we can’t provide you the answers to your inquiries on our end. Our education will need to help you.

I do see you have an open support ticket (#1562636), and that Tom responded to you earlier in this topic acknowledging that. Due to higher volume, there have been some delays in response time. While I can’t guarantee the exact response time at this moment, I can confirm that I’ve made sure it was escalated & that we personally asked the education team to review it as soon as they were able to.

I know this may not be super helpful in terms of getting direct answers to your questions, but we’ll do our best to make sure you get them soon.
