I am experiencing an issue with the Figma for Education plan related to my student account and verification limits. Long story short this entire process has been confusing.
I previously verified for the Figma Education plan through SheerID last month (October 2025). Now last week, I deleted the account that had the Education plan because I wanted to re-verify under a different edu account that I have on Figma. After deleting the original account, I expected the verification to reset—but it didn’t.
I tried remaking the Figma account I deleted with the education plan but now both of my accounts are stuck on the Starter plan, and I can’t re-verify because Figma shows “Verification Limit Exceeded.” SheerID says my verification is active on the account I deleted.
I contacted SheerID, and here is what they said:
SheerID only handles the verification process.
My verification is approved on their end, but each person can only verify once every 335 days.
They cannot reset or redo the verification.
Only Figma Support can link my verification to the correct account or reset the limit.
They have provided me the verified email, request ID and date I successfully verified.
So currently:
My old account (after recreating it) no longer shows the Education plan
My new account can’t activate the Education plan
I get the “Verification Limit Exceeded” message
Education-team files show the banner requiring verification
I have reached out to education@figma.com. Not sure how long it takes to process this request.
