Education Plan being upgraded into a Full seat after creating team

  • I’m on the School Projects Education team and SheerID says I’m already verified.
  • When I try to use Figma Make, I get a prompt saying I will be upgraded to a Full seat to use it. (I already clicked continue)
  • I do not want to accept any change that could create seat-related charges.
  • I need help understanding why Figma Make is not available through my current Education access and what my options are.

Hey ​@Gelo! Great question, and I totally get why that prompt made you pause. 

 

Don’t worry - this won't create any charges. Figma for Education gives verified students and educators free access to the Professional plan, and that includes Full seats. There’s no billing on an Education plan, so Seat type is simply controlling what you can access and not what you pay. If your account on that team wasn't already assigned a Full seat, the system prompts you to request the upgrade - for verified Education users, that upgrade is automatically approved and free. You've already clicked continue, so you should see Figma Make become available on your account shortly, if it isn't already.

 

Can you confirm whether Figma Make is now working for you? If you’re still getting prompted to request a seat, or if you do see anything billing-related appear (like an invoice or payment prompt), let me know.

    I'd like to ask about when will my AI Credits gets replenished?

    I joined Figma Edu on Aug 29, 2026, will it get get replenished by Sept 1, 2026, or until Sept 29, 2026?

    I want to know when will my credits gets replenished so that I will be able to utilize its full usage.

    Not a problem! Glad to help.

     

    Your credits will refresh on September 1st, but this in UTC so depending on where you are in the world it may be on August 31st or later in the day on September 1st. There are a few places where you can check credit usage, which also will tell you when they reset. For example, click on the Figma logo at the top left, then go to the AI balance option.
