Hi, I had the pro plan but now is on the starter. Why is free editing restricted and must require a paid professional plan but enabled free editing in my other “founder’s team’ workspace?

Hey @founder — welcome to Figma Forum, and thanks for flagging this.

If you recently downgraded from a Professional plan to the free Starter plan, what you’re likely running into are the file and project limits that apply on Starter.

A couple things to check:

  1. File limits
If your team has more files than the Starter plan allows at the time of downgrade, editing will be restricted. To continue editing, you can move files to another team or into your Drafts. Here’s a quick guide on how to move files: Move a file.
  2. Project limits
On Starter, teams are limited to one project. If your team has more than one project, editing will be locked. Reorganizing files so they fit within that limit should restore access. More details here: Move a project.

For a full overview of what happens during a downgrade, this article is a helpful reference: Upgrade or downgrade your plan → Downgrade or cancel your plan.

I hope this helps clarify what you’re seeing and gives you a clear path forward. If anything still feels off or you have questions as you reorganize, feel free to follow up — happy to help!
